Martin HS Competitive Archery
Competitive Archery
From the very beginning of this year, I knew that the archers were a special group. On April 27th, we traveled to Sandy, Utah to shoot in the Western National tournament. The archery team took first place and Martin's females came in first through third place. Trini Trang came in 1st, Amariah Smith and Jennifer Vera tied for 2nd and will need to take part in a shoot off to determine 2nd and 3rd place. Ryder Hey, came in 1st for the males. Martin's archers are the first Texas team to win the Western National tournament.

Jennifer Nguyen
Each of the 18 student council districts in the state of Texas vote on an advisor of the year, which is then sent to the elected TASC board members to be voted on to be named Texas State Advisor of the Year. The vote is based on service to their school's student council, participation and dedication to student council at the district and state levels, and the impact made on students in a multitude of ways.
After being unanimously voted as our district's advisor of the year in October, Jennifer Nguyen was awarded the honor of being selected as Texas' State Advisor of the Year for 2024 at the annual TASC State Conference!

Her students have been given many different types of opportunities to sing with some of the best in the world. Chamber Singers have opened for Pentatonix a few times. She taught three of the members in that group! Chamber Singers are going to London in March of this year to perform with the world renowned group, VOCES8. They also sang with Nathan Pacheco at the CVPA this past December.
