馃巼 Ideas can change the world. And our students have lots of great ones. That鈥檚 why 91制片厂 is proud to partner with the for the 19th annual 鈥淲hat鈥檚 Your Big Idea?鈥 Entrepreneurship Contest.
The contest includes elementary, junior high and high school participants. First-, second- and third-place winners receive scholarships to attend the exclusive one-week 鈥淭he BIG Idea Lab鈥 Summer Camp where students will learn what it really means to be an entrepreneur.

I want to update you on our lockdown today. This morning a staff member found a bullet in the cafeteria. Since we didn鈥檛 know the source of the bullet, we placed the school on lockdown at 8:56 a.m. During that time, students and staff remained in their classes and 91制片厂 security and the Arlington Police Department investigated, including checking backpacks. No weapon was found during the search. The lockdown was cleared at 9:49 a.m. and students were released from their classes. The school day then continued.
We know that a lockdown is scary for students, families and staff. As a reminder, all our staff are trained on what to do during a lockdown, and students participate in regular drills. Everyone on campus did an outstanding job following the protocols today. We know this doesn鈥檛 remove the fear, but it means they know what to do in an emergency.
When a lockdown happens, we ask families not to come to campus, and we want to share more about why we ask that of you.
1. Police are investigating and ask that the public stay away from the campus so they don鈥檛 impede their investigation.
2. The campus will not be accessible to anyone outside of the building during a lockdown.
3. Extra traffic in the area creates congestion, making it more difficult for emergency responders to operate.
During a lockdown, staff members won鈥檛 answer the phones because they are following proper lockdown protocols. With that said, we know you鈥檙e worried and we鈥檒l do our best to keep you informed by email, text messages, the campus Facebook page, the Security Tracker and the 91制片厂 app. These will have the same information so you can choose which works best for you. We encourage you to visit our Safety Page to learn more about our response plans.
