    Summary

    Web Services is responsible for developing and maintaining the functionality and accessibility of a variety of websites and online applications and helps facilitate district communications using digital technologies and media services. In accordance with the district鈥檚 mission and objectives, Web Services ensures the legal, technical, and communication effectiveness of the district鈥檚 software systems and web applications.

    Web Server

    Goal

    Provide a fully redundant platform of all web-hosted applications and increase server resources to ensure maximum availability of the district鈥檚 web services.

    Outcome:

    • Additional access point for end users during a major server outage.

    Outcome:

    • Improved availability of web applications and response times during periods of web server outages.

    Web Firewall

    Goal

    Implement a cybersecurity framework based on industry standards that protects the district鈥檚 information assets from internal and external threats.

    Outcome:

    • Implementation of a cybersecurity framework to better manage and reduce risk.

    Outcome:

    • Increased protection from threats and securing of the district鈥檚 digital assets.

    WEB APPLICATION

    Goal

    Improve the security, availability, and quality of the district's websites.

    Outcome:

    • All websites are centrally administered under one domain name; "arlingtonisd.org".

    Outcome:

    • Web publishers are trained to maintain high degrees of operational excellence.

    Outcome:

    • Workloads are reduced on parents and staff.

    USER INTERFACE / USER EXPERIENCE

    Goal

    Ensure all web applications adhere to the district鈥檚 branding guidelines and design system.

    Outcome:

    • The mobile app is consistent with the district鈥檚 identity and provides an engaging experience online.

    Outcome:

    • The intranet website is consistent with the district鈥檚 identity and provides an engaging experience online.

    Digital Accessibility

    Goal 1

    Provide multi-lingual content of all critical information on the website for non-English speakers.

    Outcome:

    • Spanish speakers are receiving critical information in their native language.

    Outcome:

    • Vietnamese speakers are receiving critical information in their native language.

    Goal 2

    Ensure that, to the maximum extent possible, persons with disabilities have an equal opportunity to access and utilize information technologies and technology-related services provided by the district.

    • The district鈥檚 website is highly accessible and provides equitable access to all persons.

    DIGITAL MARKETING

    Goal

    Develop and implement a comprehensive search engine marketing strategy that meets current and future needs of the district.

    EVENT PRODUCTION

    Goal

    Enhance the quality of board meeting productions.

    Outcome:

    • All district and community stakeholders are aware of their roles and expectations for board meetings to ensure an optimal experience and production.
