Section 504
91制片厂 has a duty to identify, refer, evaluate and if eligible, provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) to disabled students under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a federal civil rights law that focuses on the non-discrimination of students with disabilities.听 The law states, 鈥No otherwise qualified individual with a disability in the United States鈥hall, solely by reason of her or his disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance鈥︹赌
Under 搂504, students with disabilities may receive accommodations and services to ensure that their individual educational needs are met as adequately of those of non-disabled.
For purposes of 搂504, a person with a disability is one who
- Has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities;
- Has a record of such an impairment; or
- Is regarded as having such an impairment.
