The Texas Education Agency (TEA), located in Austin, Texas, is a branch of the state government of聽 Texas and oversees public elementary and secondary education in the state.聽 Included in the oversight responsibilities is monitoring for compliance with federal guidelines.

IDEIA, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act 2004, is the federal law that assures that students with disabilities receive a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.
