Signing Day 2024 a big hit
If there were any doubts about how parents of the littlest learners in the 91制片厂 feel about the district鈥檚 Signing Day festivities, all you had to do was go to Thornton Elementary last Thursday to erase those worries.
Parents were lined up outside the cafeteria when Signing Day started at 5 p.m. to register their pre-K and kindergarten students for the 2024-25 school year.
Signing Day, which is in its second year for the district, is the one-stop opportunity for parents to bring their children to the school to get all the paperwork done, see what the building looks like and me their future teachers.
The students are the stars on Signing Day, as elementary schools throughout the district have stations set up for the students to put pencil to paper and make their plans known.
鈥淗aving the opportunity to see our future young learners signing their commitment to a successful 2024-25 school year was a privilege,鈥 said early childhood learning director Dr. Jackeline Orsini, who showed up at Thornton for Signing Day. 鈥淭o see the smiles of our future young learners, the excitement of hundreds of parents after completing the registration process, the extraordinary support of our dedicated staff members and the happiness of so many children walking the hallways of what will soon be their school were only some of the highlights of this very special event.鈥
