You coming?听
The听Ashworth Elementary kindergarteners embarked on their very first Polar Express parade,听a creative, joy-filled journey through the school.听
But the adventure began at home, where these young engineers听crafted their very own train cars. 听
In fact, it was a family project initiated by kindergarten teacher Carol Hohman. 听
鈥淚t was amazing,鈥 Hohman said. 鈥淲e have almost 60 kids, and every single kid brought a train.鈥 听
One after another, they marched听to 鈥溾 soundtrack as the audience laughed and cheered. 听
鈥淢y favorite part was seeing all the other kids look at my train,鈥 said kindergartner Willow J. 鈥淭hey were cheering for us.鈥听
Parents and family members were, too. 听
鈥淚t touches their hearts, too,鈥 said Ashworth principal Stacey Maddoux. 鈥淚t makes them happy that their kids are happy to be a part of Ashworth.鈥 听
Kindergarten parent Vanessa Herrera is the perfect example. 听
鈥淚 love it, and I love this school,鈥 Herrera said. 鈥淎s soon as you walk in the door, everybody is always smiling.鈥 听
And the adventure didn鈥檛 end there. From a virtual tour of the Polar Express to comparing the book and the movie in the classroom, it was a fun learning journey.听
Experiences like these not only contribute to a fun and engaging learning environment, but they also create lasting memories for the students and their families. 听
They may not have been traveling through real mountains and the snow, but the hallways of Ashworth Elementary sure were magical. 听
