History
In 1849, Jason Bryant Little and his bride came to Texas from Tennessee. The land they settled on was granted under the homesteading act of the state: title signed by Sam Houston.
The log cabin the Littles built was on the site of the original school. This original cabin still stands south of the school. In 1888, the Littles built a second home and donated the first cabin and the land to the growing Tate Springs Community for a school.
The Little School (on Little Road) was operated by the people of Tate Springs until 1959 when it became a part of the Fort Worth Public School District. In 1968, Little Elementary joined the Arlington Public School system, and one year later the new building was constructed.
Little Elementary was relocated to its current location about 2 blocks north on Little Road in 1992.
