Our front doors open at 7:45 am for students who are eating breakfast. Students are expected to be in their seats and ready to learn at 8:20 am. Students who arrive before 8:10, and/or students who finish their breakfast before 8:10, should report to their morning locations.
Morning locations are as follows:
- Kindergarten and Pre-K report to the stage Grade 1 report to the library
- Grade 2 report to their hallway
- Grades 3-6 report to their gym line
Students in grades 2-6 are required to bring a book to their reading location. Students without books will be signed/documented in their planner.
Our dismissal time is 3:35 PM. If you need to pick up your child early from school, please arrive before 3:00. There will be no checking out of students after 3:00. Please refer to the Student Handbook for detailed instructions about arrival and dismissal procedures.
Supervision
It is the responsibility of the school staff to properly supervise students while they are in our care. We begin this supervision at 7:45 a.m. and it ends at 3:35 p.m. Please be aware of the dangers of dropping off your children early in the morning, as there is no supervision until 7:45. In addition, it is expected that parents will assume responsibility for their children promptly at 3:35, as it is not the school staff’s responsibility to monitor students after 3:35. We understand that there are extenuating circumstances, but those should not be the norm. We also understand that we may need to monitor a student for a few minutes after dismissal. If you are consistently picking up your child after 3:50, we can recommend some excellent day care facilities for you to utilize.
Before and After School Care
The Girls Incorporated of Tarrant County uses the Farrell gym for before-school and after-school supervision. A complete list of after-school care facilities can be picked up in the office.
Dress Code
Farrell students will be required to dress in a school uniform. Detailed information about the required dress code is available in the Student Handbook. Please note that hair for girls and boys should be kept neat and clean. Hair styles may not be distracting to the learning environment. No Mohawks are accepted. Also note that no writing or carvings should be in student’s hair.
Students who arrive to school out of dress code will be instructed to change clothes based on what is available in our uniform closet. At the end of the day, we ask children to change back into their original clothes. An attempt is made to call parents, however this is not always feasible due to staffing and instructional times. To ensure your child does not have to wear a uniform that does not belong to him/her, please be sure to send your child dressed to school appropriately each morning.
On free dress days, students are still required to follow the AISD Student Code of Conduct rules for clothing.
Student Behavior
As part of the Texas Education Code (Sec. 37.0012), all schools in Texas shall designate a Campus Behavior Coordinator whose primary responsibility is to maintain student discipline for the campus and be a contact for parents or guardians concerning individual student disciplinary actions by the school. The person designated may be the principal of the campus or any other campus administrator selected by the principal.

Visitors
Farrell will be utilizing a camera and buzzer system. All outside doors to the building will be locked each day at 8:30, including the front door. Visitors will press the button on the camera to alert the office and gain entry to the building.
Each visitor to Farrell must then proceed to the office where they will have their driver’s license scanned into our visitor identification system. The system will print a personalized visitor’s pass that must be worn while in the building. We welcome and encourage visitors to our school. If you are interested in observing your child in the classroom, we do request that you inform us 24 hours in advance. No classroom visits or observations may take place during curriculum assessments, state assessments, or district assessments. We ask that you limit visits and observations to 30 minutes per day.
If you are visiting to drop off money, folders, lunches, etc…we ask that you leave those in the front office and the office will notify your child. This procedure will help to minimize the number of classroom disruptions.
