Our mission at Carter Junior High is to educate our students in a safe and supportive environment in order that they may develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to reach their full academic and personal potential.

Carter Junior High will be a school with a safe and聽positive learning environment where we work together to聽engage the hearts and minds of our students. As a staff we are聽passionate about our work and committed to never stop聽discovering best practices together. Our expectations for our聽students are high, rigorous, and achievable. We vow to meet聽our students where they are and challenge them to become聽ready, respectful, and responsible lifelong聽 learners and聽productive members of the community.
History
Our namesake, James Ira Carter moved to Arlington in聽1894. He served as city secretary and later as聽postmaster.聽In 1902, the 91制片厂 was聽created and Mr. Carter was elected as one of the original聽seven trustees. Mr. Carter was considered one of the聽outstanding contributors to education in Arlington both聽in the public school system and the University of Texas聽system.聽We are proud to be Carter Cougars and continue a rich聽history of educating future citizens who will lead聽Arlington and surrounding cities into the 21st century聽with pride.
