Teacher and Coach
Welcome to Coach Spencer’s page! I am VERY passionate about Arlington High and being involved in two of the top programs here at school, AVID and Volleyball!  I received my BS in Kinesiology with emphasis in Sport Management from Texas A&M in 1999. Before getting my certification, I worked for the Texas Rangers but quickly realized my passion was for teaching! I taught at Bailey Junior High for 3 years and began Arlington High in 2005!
AVID stands for Achievement Via Individual Determination and is a school-wide transformation effort focused on leadership, systems, instruction, and culture, and is designed to increase the number of students who enroll and succeed in higher education and in their lives beyond high school. AVID strengthens student potential for completion and teaches students academic and social skills to help them develop the habits and behaviors needed to succeed in rigorous curriculum. The AVID College Readiness System is a catalyst for developing a school culture that closes the achievement, expectation, and opportunity gaps many students face, and it prepares all students for success in a global society.

The Lady Colt Volleyball program continues its rich tradition of a winning culture as we seek our 26th straight year in the playoffs! The program produces college athletes every year as we have alumnae playing at Hill College, Dallas Baptist and Newman University. 2018 graduate, Katie Clark, verbally committed to TCU last summer and we look forward to her and many current players to sign letters of intent this fall!
As a 1995 graduate of Arlington High, I want to instill the spirit and pride in each of our students and help them learn to be excellent role models to our younger generation so that the tradition will continue! Welcome to the Colt Family!!
